Shea Butter most popular of butters, approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit melting point, up to 2 year shelf life, choice of raw, unrefined, refined, moisturizing to the skin and, may melt quickly if your recipes call for melting. Favorite in Body Butters.

Unlike Mango or Cocoa butters, she has a softer texture.

Mango Butter is softer than Cocoa although Mango has a bit more of a firm texture to shea. Approximately 86 degrees Fahrenheit melting point, up to 2 year shelf life, works well in lotions, balms yet requires melting to incorporate more easily.

Cocoa Butter oh my what a firm texture because it is a vegetable fat. Approximately 86-90 degrees Fahrenheit melting point, 2 year shelf life and melts slightly on the skin thereby some choose to use as a hardener in body butter, lips balm and soap.

Tamanu Butter / Foraha Butter (Not to be confused with Tamanu oil) the hardest and most stable exotic butter. At about 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 C to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 C melting point. Buttery texture makes it ideal for the formulation of lip balm, lotion, body butters and more.

Kokum Butter / Garcinia indica is crumbly, firm and yet similar in texture to Cocoa butter. Melting point may begin around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, again about 2 year shelf life, slightly melts on contact and formulators love it in lotion, body butter, lip balm, and cold process soap for it's hardening capability and it brings skin-loving luxury to the skin.

An then there are all of those oils for example there is Tamanu oil, Coconut oil oh my the list of carrier oils to blend or not to blend. Key note is always mix carrier oils with essential oils.
