Beards - Fuzzy and Frizzy - How To Prevent It

The way in which a man's beard grows depends on a huge array of physical factors. Testosterone levels, genetics, age, and stress levels all play a role in the speed at which a beard grows and the fullness at which it develops. Throughout this process, many men are confronted with frizzy beards that can be irritating to the man growing the beard and his partner.

At the end of the day, facial hair is just that - hair. It can get dry (or oily) and can develop split ends and a certain unruliness if not properly moisturized. When surveyed, most bearded men recommend avoiding daily shampooing with traditional shampoos and shampooing the beard once or twice a week. Most shampoos have a tendency to quickly dry out hair in an effort to reduce the "oily look" that many try to avoid.

In regards to daily care and maintenance. Depending on the size and shape of your beard (and subsequent manscaping needs) either a natural beard oil or beard wax will be ideal. For most men who do not have extensive shaping needs, all natural beard oils are all that they will need. Beard oils are, for the most part, made from a variety of essential oils and vitamin blends and are great for keeping both the hair and the facial skin beneath moisturized. These are especially beneficial for men who live in areas of extreme temperatures (either hot or cold) and who have a tendency towards dry skin.

For perfect beard softening, moisturizing and conditioning providing your beard with everything it needs. Daily use of our beard butter helps relieve dry skin under the beard along with unsightly beard dandruff, and too it kills the itch. Your beard will thank you for the no grease feel and, combined soft results.

In order to prevent itchiness and frizzy hair, the beard oil can be applied from the skin upwards. The trick here is to apply a few drops directly into your hand, rub the hands together, and then work the oil from the base of the skin (facial skin) upwards through the beard. With regular use, this should be a fairly easy process and there should not be knots or tangles that make running the hands through the beard difficult. Depending on the size of the beard, different amounts of beard oil will be needed.

For men who require more detailed grooming or styling, beard waxes can be ideal. These often have natural ingredients plus some form of wax or gel that can help hair stay in place. Most brands offer products with natural ingredients and with relatively non offense fragrances. Waxes are just as easy to apply as beard oils - some require the addition of water prior to application but either way, they can be massaged into the hair and then can be used to style as needed. These often contain moisturizing elements (think coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and jojoba oil) and can help tame dry and frizzy beards with regular use.

If your beard starts to get frizzy or dry as you grow it out don't worry - this is perfectly normal and there is nothing to be ashamed of. There is a huge variety of products now available for men to help them maintain presentable and maintainable beards, regardless of the stage that their beard is in.
